I'm way overdue with this cocoon, but I'm still going to make it. I hope Tiffany isn't too annoyed with me and will accept my sincerest apologies. I used my first white cocoon on Baby Noah last weekend, and it was entirely too large. So I need to work on making these things tighter. Oops!
12:33 PM
I worked the front stitches for this one. I couldn't remember if I usually go to the back or front haha.
2:00 PM
I have a feeling that this might be too small, but I won't find out until I test it on Petagaye's baby tomorrow. He'll be 21 days old. If it fits, that's not good. If it's too small, that's perfect.

In the making: White, Pink, Grey Headband \\ Newborn Baby Girl
I'm trying to ship off 2 packages today: a cocoon for KimBerly E. Photography, and a cocoon and headband for MK Moments Photography. This headband is the last thing I need, and then I can go to the Post Office. So let's get started!
2:38 PM
So I'm starting off with the F-3.75mm needle, because the J-6mm seems way too large for the gauge.
Nope. I decided that that's way too small. I've upgraded to the H/8-5.00mm needle. Time to start over.
2:41 PM
I hate how big these headbands turn out. It would be fine for a 3-month-old, but I think it's entirely too large for a newborn. So I've decided to change up the rules a little bit. Instead of doing the DC in the bottom stitch, I'm going to do it all the way down to the half circle that the top 5 DC's created. I hope that makes the headband smaller.
2:59 PM
It's still thick! Lol I'm going to try this again with thinner yarn, and then with SC, instead of DC. Time to join the ends together.
3:09 PM
Wow. I feel like that took forever and a half. I HATE sewing -_______-
3:57 PM
Yarn: Lion Brand Medium - Silver Heather, Raspberry & White
Needles: F-3.75mm, H/8-5.00mm, J/10-6.00mm, N-9.00mm
Pattern: Kristi Simpson
Estimated Time: 70 min

In the making: Claret Baby Cocoon \\ Newborn
I shipped off the sea blue cocoon and the green newsboy hat this morning to the photographer in WI who requested it. I really hope the items fit her babies, and I can't wait to see the images she produces with them :)
So next up is the second photographer who only requested a cocoon. I wish I had read the list first, because I could have easily sent 1 of the 2 cocoons I had already made, weeks ago. Oops! But I might as well just get started on a red one, right? I won't be able to ship until Monday afternoon.
I'm at the hair salon, by the way. That should explain the different look of the photos haha
Time to get to work!

All done!

In the making: Sea Blue Baby Cocoon \\ Newborn
I've gotten quite a few photographers from the Kelly Brown Newborn Photography Facebook Group who are willing to try out my crochet products for me. YAY! Finally, some pictures NOT taken by my iPhone :)
I'm working on this baby cocoon for Rachel Odegard Photography. I'm really excited about the fact that most of the photographers REALLY like my cocoons. I have to make SIX within the next week! EEE!!! :)
I'm at Mommy's house, chilin' after a long day of shooting graduation portraits in Rhode Island for the MIP Program. Ok, so time to get started. It's late, but I really need to get these done fast so I can ship them.

In the making: White & Pink Open Weave Ally Beanie \\ Newborn Baby Girl
I went to Michael's the afternoon with Chrissie and purchased some new yarn. I thought I had enough to make a blanket to cover the world, but it turns out that my stock isn't very good. I bought all Vanna's Choice. Some pinks, greys and a white. I was supposed to make some more baby head bands, but I've decided instead to make a cute little beanie.
4:54 PM
I messed up. Misinterpreted the directions, so I had to erase about 10-15 minutes of work.

In the making: Mixed Brown Headband \\ Newborn Baby Girl
I'm supposed to be editing Mil Ball photos, but I really wanted to use the natural daylight to get some props done. The hat I made last night was way too big for the baby that came to the studio. I tried the newborn version on him and it was too long. I was disappointed, but I was also glad that I was able to find that out on my own, as opposed to finding out from a client.
So now I have to redo those.
But not now. I'm trying to make this headband:
With this yarn as the band:
Let's see how this goes!
2:28 PM
Turns out that my yarn is broken. Are you serious!! Good thing I found out in row 1 and not the last row...

In the Making: Green Newsboy Hat \\ 4-Month-Old Baby Boy
I have a little one coming to the studio tomorrow afternoon, and I want him to be the first to try out my hats. I'm currently working on a little newsboy hat in green. I made one a few days ago in brown, but it's way too small. I need to work on not making my stitches so tight!
Anyway, time to get to work!
